Wool, felt and the sound of a room

Why the Fiske speaker is wrapped in wool instead of mesh or plastic.

A speaker spends most of its life switched off, sitting in a living room. We wanted the Fiske to look at home there before it plays a single note.

A material people already trust

Wool is already in most homes, in blankets, rugs and coats. It softens light, it ages well, and it lets sound through with almost no loss once the weave is right.

Tuning the weave

We worked with a mill to test eleven weaves before settling on one open enough for clear highs and dense enough to hide the drivers completely.

The result is a speaker that reads as a piece of furniture first and a piece of technology second.
